Ilocos collectively refers to two provinces in the Philippines: Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur which used to be a single province. Inhabitants are called Ilocanos and they speak the language Iloko, also called Ilocano.

The Ilocos Region, containing four provinces, is named after Ilocos. 56 percent of the inhabitants of the region are Pangasinan people, who belong to a different ethnolinguistic group from the Ilocanos. Ilocos may also refer to the former province before Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur were divided.

So me and my friends decided to have a tour and we chose ILOCOS because of it's promising beauty.

Welcome to BALUARTE NI SINGSON

Baluarte is a ten minute drive from Vigan City. It is owned by Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson and sometimes called Chavit’s Fortess. Unlike other zoos, Baluarte is a wildlife sanctuary dedicated to facilitating education, conservation and protection of endangered species and wildlife. Visitors of Baluarte are guaranteed to rediscover life amongst the animals in unique and entertaining ways through first-hand experience. In fact, one can come and play with the animals inside Baluarte. It is so interactive that visitors can feed them, pet them, whistle with them and even roar with them.

This is me, beside from Tiger, you can see different kinds of animals also.

So this is where we stayed, good place but super pricey foods.

Morning before heading to windmills

Saint Augustine Church

The Saint Augustine Church (Spanish: Iglesia de San Agustín de Paoay), commonly known as the Paoay Church, is the Roman Catholic church of the municipality of Paoay, Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. Completed in 1710, the church is famous for its distinct architecture highlighted by the enormous buttresses on the sides and back of the building. It is declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the Philippine government in 1973 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the collective group of Baroque Churches of the Philippines in 1993.

Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, also known as Burgos Lighthouse, is a cultural heritage structure in Burgos, Ilocos Norte, that was established during the Spanish Colonial period in the Philippines. The lighthouse was first lit on March 30, 1892, and is set high on Vigia de Nagpartian Hill overlooking the scenic Cape Bojeador where early galleons used to sail by. After over 100 years, it still functions and serves ships that enter the Philippine Archipelago from the north and guide them safely away from the rocky coast of the town.[3]

So you need to rent a special tricycle.

Sand Dunes Ilocos Norte Philippines – Sandboarding, 4X4 and ATV

If you are a lakwatsera and a traveler, you can’t miss this adrenaline rush voyage in Laoag and Paoay, Ilocos Norte – the La Paz Sand Dunes adventure. I confess, my trip in this desert has been one of the most unforgettable experiences because we had an awesome 4X4 ride trailing the high slope sands and sandboarding without a care of the sun burning our skin. ATV rides are also available for the hyper you.

Loving the sun

Bangui Wind Farm'

Bangui Wind Farm is a wind farm in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The wind farm uses 20 units of 70-metre (230 ft) high Vestas V82 1.65 MW wind turbines, arranged on a single row stretching along a nine-kilometer shoreline off Bangui Bay, facing the West Philippine Sea.

Phase I of the NorthWind power project in Bangui Bay consists of 15 wind turbines, each capable of producing electricity up to a maximum capacity of 1.65 MW, for a total of 24.75 MW. Kapurpurawan Rock Formation Ilocos Norte Philippines | Amazing Rock and Beach

One of the most fascinating and stunning wonders of the Philippines I ever saw was the Kapurpurawan Rock formation in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. We went here after we visited the famous Cape Bojeador Lighthouse.
